The 15.3 GB member in the Samsung range, the SV1533D features ImpacGuard, NoiseGuard, Acoustic Noise Suppression Technology and 7-way interleave OTF Error Correction. The ImpacGuard technology represents a modified actuator arm, with built-in stabilising protection to both media and heads, reducing the chances of a collision between both components during impact. The best performer in the Samsung fleet, this model scored an above average drive index of 15460, and the lowest CPU utilisation of 2.22 per cent. Above average scores in the ZD Winbench suite of benchmarks helped the drive obtain a good overall score of 65.71. As far as cost per MB is concerned, the drive proved to be a good deal at Rs 0.40 per MB. With decent performance and good value for money, the SV1533D is a reasonable buy.
